Nov. 14th Meeting – Journey of a Real Estate Investor

Steve Grant, a local real estate investor, will be sharing his story of how he starting with house hacking, flipping, merged to historical renovations, to BnB and then to apartments.  If you’re interested in investing in the Albuquerque area, then this meeting is for you!  Get the real story from someone who been through it.

Steve Grant is full time real estate investor, business owner, marketing strategist specializing in acquisition of rental properties, distressed properties and growing a successful small business for the betterment of the surrounding communities of Albuquerque.

After achieving a Marketing degree in 1989 from Southern Nazarene University (Oklahoma City), he went on to become a Sales Manager for Progressive Insurance for 10 years, later joined Travelers Insurance for another 5 years as a Marketing Manager.  With both companies he managed product & marketing distribution for all New Mexico independent insurance agents.

During this same time both Steve & his wife Kara aggressively started acquiring various properties in Albuquerque.  They purchased 3 different historical homes in the Huning Highland Neighborhood between 2001-2009.

Starting their full service Bed & Breakfast business over 15 years ago with just 4 rooms.  Today they offer 10 rooms between 3 large historic homes and 2 private small cottages along with a beautiful and spacious backyard perfect for corporate retreats, receptions, weddings and reunions.

During this same time period, they also purchased multi-family investment properties as well (4-plex properties specifically).  In 2001 they started with just one multi family property, then parlayed that into 8 units and eventually ended up with a total of five 4-plex properties (20 units).

Steve & Kara have developed a very successful example of entrepreneurial small business startup. Bringing the public a 5-Star hospitality experience, phenomenal customer service 2nd to none. During that same time they also renovated additional multi-family properties to help other Albuquerque citizens to have a place called home.

Lastly Steve is a member of AED (Albuquerque Economic Development), EAGA (Executives Assoc. of Greater ABQ.), Visit ABQ Board member, and hosts a monthly real estate meet-up breakfast called “Lets Discuss Rental Property Investing in New Mexico”(2nd Friday each month) to help others discover the wonderful ways to get involved in real estate investing!
